I need parallel port code samples!
Q:
I am working on a project in which I need to transfer 9 bit addresses from the XS40 board to the PC via the parallel port. Would anyone mind posting your code or links to good examples of code for this, as I'm not sure about how to shift the data out of the FPGA and what type of C program would be required to read thr bits in and combine them into the appropriate size words.

You can get a design example from the Universidad de Sevilla that performs bidirectional data transfer between the PC and XS40 Board. Find it in the list at http://www.xess.com/ho03000.html . The design includes VHDL files for the FPGA and C files for the program that runs on the PC.
