How do I check the settings for my parallel port on a Windows NT PC?

Q:

How do I check the settings for my parallel port on a Windows NT PC?

A:

I called my system administrator and asked him to give me his advice. He told me to turn off my computer and reboot so that I could get to the setup program before Windows boots up. He told me to go into the setup program and simply change the parallel port setting from SPP to LPP/SPP. Without turning off my computer and checking, I believe those are the correct abbreviations. Any way after doing that your program that downloads the bits worked just fine on WinNT SP5.

He also told me how to check the the I/O port with NT. This is the route:

start=>program administrative tools=>windows NT diagnostics=>resources=>I/O port

(on the same window as resources at the bottom), then you can see the parport setting on the screen in a list of settings. It is simple to check once you know the route in NT. My parallel port was correctly set at 0378-037A.
