Must I use PC parallel port in SPP mode?
Q:
What can I do to run a XSTEST if my BIOS doesn't have a SPP option?
A:
You can try XSTEST with the parallel port in any mode. SPP is the simplest mode and should have the lowest probability of causing a problem. But we have used ECP mode as well with very few reported problems.
