VCC connection for the XS40 Board versus the XC4000 chip

Q:

I have read both "XS40, XSP, and XS95 Board Manual" on your web page and "The Practical XILINX Designer LAB Book(Prentice Hall)". In the case of X40-005XL V1.2, the descriptions in Table 1 of the former and in Table A.2 of the latter may contradict each other. because PIN 2 is for +5V in the Table 1, but PIN 2 is for +3.3V in the Table A.2.

Which pin assignment is correct ? And what is correct connection for power supply of XS40?

A:

Table 1 concerns the power connections for the pins of the XS40 Board. Table A.2 concerns the power connections for the XC4005XL FPGA chip. We have used pin 2 of the board as the +5V input/output pin for the board, while pin 54 of the board is used for input/output of +3.3V. Pin 54 of the board is connected directly to all the VCC pins of the FPGA chip (2,11,22,33,42,54,63,74). Pin 2 of the board is not connected to any pin of the FPGA chip.
