How do I tell if the DriverLINX parallel port driver is active in WinNT?

Q:

we just installed the NT-Driver softwate (port95nt.exe) and the NT-tools (NTSETUP.EXE) but still aren't able to load a bit-stream onto the XS40-Board. How does this system work under NT? Do I have to load one of the two interface programs before I can send any data to the XS-Board? Or does XSLOAD automatically read the DLLs?

A:

After installing port95nt.exe and ntsetup.exe, you should be set to go. Possibly the new driver is not working. In NT you should check to make sure the parallel port driver is working as follows:

  1. Open the "Control Panel"
  2. Select the "Devices" icon
  3. Scroll down in the Devices list until you find "DriverLINX Port I/O Driver". It's status should be listed as "Started".
